Science Fiction isn’t a genre I am familiar with – except for Star Trek. I am not a reader of SciFi unless it is Star Trek related, so reading this novel was a difference experience for me. Magisterium is a mystery novel involving two separate divisions of the planet; the Rift or Magisterium and the Colloquium. The Magisterium is a place of magic, while the Colloquium is a modernized world of science; both worlds are unable to interact with one another. The main character of the story is Glenn Morgan and she lives in the Colloquium with her father, who is a scientist slash inventor. Her mother has disappeared, or as Glenn sees it, has abandoned them for some mysterious reason unknown to her.
The Children of Kings brings to life one of the commanding adventures of Christopher Pike, the second captain of the starship Enterprise, and this galactic adventure involves the Klingon and the Orion races. Starbase 18 lies in ruins, believed to have been attacked by the Klingons.
