Last month I saw a Facebook ad from Book Outlet announcing a sale – get 15% off your order and free shipping on orders of $35 or more. The ad worked and I headed over to the website to see what books looked interesting…well, as a reader, most of the books I clicked on were books I wanted. It’s like giving beer to an alcoholic or candy to a baby. There’s no saying, “I’ll just get a book or two.” Instead I bought 11 books! Actually, the price for the 11 books wasn’t that bad. I ended up paying around $47. Woohoo!
After placing the order came the dreaded waiting time. Since it was free shipping I had to wait 8 days to get my books, but it seemed much loooonger than that!
Below is a list of the books I purchased:
- The Grave Robber’s Apprentice $4.58
- Devil at My Heels: A Heroic Olympian’s Astonishing Story of Survival as a Japanese POW in World War II $4.58
- Benjamin Franklin’s Bastard $6.36
- Magonia $5.43
- The Children of the King $5.00
- The Ice Dragon $3.22
- The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher: A Shocking Murder and the Undoing of a Great Victorian Detective $1.86
- The War That Saved My Life $5.00
- John Lincoln Clem: Civil War Drummer Boy $2.28
- The Abduction of Smith and Smith $4.58
- The Hours Count $4.58
Now I just have to find the space to store all these new books until I can find the time to read them. Wish me luck!
For more about the books I bought, check out my YouTube video below.
I noticed you got a lot of hardcover books. I get the plastic book covers to protect the dust jackets from http://generalbookcovers.com/cover-packages-of-100.aspx. They are the ones that I put on your books when you came to visit last. This is the most affordable place I have found.
Loved the book haul. Love Bookoutlet too! Oh, and I love that mug!!…the coffee mug that is. lol!
Thanks for sharing the link! I’ll have to order some because I love the covers you used on the books I bought. Makes them feel so much safer from wear and tear.
I enjoyed filming it, although it’s hard trying to remember what the books are about. Hopefully as I record more, I’ll be more comfortable in front of the camera. And yes, that coffee mug is awesome! I got it from Amanda a few years back and thought it was perfect to use in the video. 🙂
Hahahaha ikr! I just ordered 8 books from book outlet!
Yeah, it seems I’m always stocking their website looking for books I want. 😉
