Recent Barnes & Noble Visit

Last week my nephew made a surprise visit.  I was so excited to get the call that he was in town for ONE day…yes, just one day!  His day in town was Friday, February 10th and since he lives far away in the great land of Texas, I took a half day at work so we could spend some time together.

One of the many things we did that day was stop at Barnes & Noble.  I’m such a lucky Auntie that my sister raised her kids to love books.  Well, not all of her children love books as much as we do, but Josh is one of them that enjoys browsing a bookstore!

We arrived around 6pm and had a little time (around an hour and a half) to look around before we had to meet my mother-in-law and brother-in-law for dinner.  So since we had a time limit, once we entered the store I gave Josh a verbal tour to let him know where each section was.  From there we decided to visit the clearance books first.  This is one of my favorite sections although lately, B&N has had a slim selection – most of the shelves are adorned with the now popular coloring books and craft kits, and I’m more of a reader than a colorer or crafter.

I didn’t find anything in the clearance – I think Josh may have found 1 book of interest.  Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures with him and his book load!  He ended up buying 3 books, same number as me. 🙂

The books I ended up purchasing were:

  1. Star Trek: The Latter Fire
  2. Game of Thrones: A Feast for Crows
  3. Game of Thrones: A Dance with Dragons

With these two editions, my Game of Thrones collection is complete.  I now have all the books in the series.

It was a fun trip and I really enjoyed the time I had with my nephew.  Josh, it was a pleasure, like always!!  I can’t wait to see you again and I hope it’s very, very soon!
