January was a whirlwind of events. Lots of birthdays to celebrate, had to travel to Coronado Island for work, and I started to pick up weekend hours at my second job…with all the “stuff” going on in my life, I didn’t read during the month of January! I know, so hard to believe! Before my life became hectic with distractions, I was reading: A Natural History of Dragons and The Midnight Queen. Both are fantasy books, one involving mythical creatures and the other infused with magic. So far I am really enjoying both of them and I can’t wait to get back into the lives of these characters – I’m crossing my fingers that February will be a month of reading!

I had a very slow reading month and often wished I could find the time to read.
How about you? Does your life affect the amount of reading you do? Any suggestions on how to fit in reading on those busy days, weeks, or even months? I would love to hear from you and see how you fit reading into your busy schedule.
Downloading audio books to my ipod. I listen as I do chores or sometime while eating if I am by myself. You can even buy CD’s and listen in the car during commutes. We do this when we drive to see Don’s mom each week, about an hour drive one-way.
That’s a great idea! I always forget about audio books…which is weird because I do audio Bible Studies. Guess I’ll have to check out a few titles to download. Any suggestions?
I enjoyed Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Silas Marner by George Eliot

I am not sure if your car can read mp3’s [ours cant 😦 ], but if it can you can listen there either from your phone if you have an adaptor or burn them to CD’s. Only thing with CD’s is that they will take a lot.
You can also buy some. We enjoyed
Of Mice and Men (lots of language which I didn’t expect)
To Hell and Back by Audie Murphy (lots of language though)
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
1984 by George Orwell
Pilgrim’s Progress
The Kingdom Series by Chuck Black
The Knights of Arrethtrae by Chuck Black
and lots more. Let me know if you want to borrow any minus Brave New World because we are currently listening to that one.
