You Were Born for This by Bruce Wilkinson
There have recently been a lot of circumstances in my life in which I found myself in unfamiliar territory. It was during this time that I was due to read another book for Water Brook Multnomah and their “Blogging for Books” program. As I scanned the books they were offering, I can across this title.
You Were Born for This: 7 Keys to a Life of Predictable Miracles takes you through the steps of understanding, recognizing, and delivering a miracle. Bruce Wilkinson can probably describe to you, better than I, what this book is about. Check out his video below:
As I began reading Bruce’s book, I began to get excited about it and the possibility of being part of a miracle. The book is a very encouraging book to read and the message is enlightening. I like how he references the Bible to support what he writes about. Plus the example stories he uses are helpful in understanding the message and they also encourage the reader. Reading this book made me analyze how I view miracles, heaven’s activity, and how God uses people to minister to one another. It also made me think about the times I felt nudged by God but didn’t act on that nudge and, therefore, missed an opportunity of blessing someone with God’s love and understanding.
The book contains discussion questions which I didn’t use, but after looking them over I believe they would enhance the reading experience. Of course they would be a great tool to use in a group study as well. I do plan on reading this book again, with others, as the interaction will help aggrandize the learning experience.
Since this book is categorized as Christian living, people who would be interested in reading this would be those who want to grow in their spiritual walk or who want to deepen their understanding of miracles and the part they play in them. I would even suggest this book to non-Christians who might be curious about miracles, but who are also open to Christian viewpoints. For churches who have cell groups or home groups, this would be a great resource; or maybe even for adult Sunday School.
